Annual return reminders and a checklist of your obligations

Ontario corporations file an annual return with the Ontario Business Registry each year, based on the anniversary of incorporation. Carta shows when yours is due and keeps the main ongoing obligations in one checklist.

Annual return countdown

Enter your anniversary date once, and the compliance page and dashboard show the next due date and how many days remain. When it's close, the reminder turns red, with a link to generate this year's annual resolutions.

Obligations for your type of corporation

For-profit corporations under the OBCA and not-for-profits under the ONCA have different requirements. Carta shows the checklist for yours: securities and ISC registers, stated capital, director consents and annual meeting timing for OBCA corporations; the members register, consents and the annual members' meeting for ONCA corporations.

Minute book export

Export every register, governance record and the vault's document list as one file, for an accountant, a lawyer or your own backup.
